Miss Alexander has been teaching the boys and girls all about mummification for our Egyptian topic ‘Walk like an Egyptian’.
Today the boys and girls got to mummify an apple! We used natron (salt) and covered slices of apple then placed them in see through cups. The apples all had to be the same brand, the same size and we had to use the same amount of natron. We weighed the apples and recorded our predictions and observations. We can’t wait to see if the weight has changed next week! The natron should pull out the water from the apples. We used apples because they are so high in water content!
