North Antrim Hurling Cup Champions 2024

10th May 2024

St Anne's are the North Antrim Hurling Cup Champions for 2024!!!

They qualified for the Cup competition at today's blitz, held in a sunny, warm Pairc MacUilin in Baile an Chaistil, out of a tough group including St Joseph's Dunloy, St Patrick's Loughguile, St Patrick's and St Brigid's Ballycastle, St Ciaran's Cushendun, St Mary's Cushendall, Seaview Glenarm, St Brigid's Ballymoney and Ballycastle IPS.

The panel were all outstanding throughout their 8 group games, semi final against St Patrick's Glenariffe and the final against a very strong St Joseph's Dunloy team going for the treble! Indeed, St Joseph's were the only team to beat St Anne's in the group stages but the Corkey Kids were not going to be beaten when it really mattered, bringing the new Cumann na mBunscol Cup home for the first time.

On such a hot day, a strong panel was vital to ensure the games went our way. Well done everyone, we are all so proud of your teamwork, efforts and achievement today!

A huge thank you to Mrs Bailey from Glenann PS for organising the event down to the last detail, to Mc Quillan's GAC for the use of their fantastic pitches today, to Rory McCloskey for co-ordinating the games on the day, to Liam, Roan, Ronan and Seamy for refereeing and to all 17 teams for conducting themselves impeccably all day.

Congratulations to Bowl champions St Mary's Cushendall, Plate champions Seaview IPS Glenarm, Shield champions St Patrick's and St Brigid's Ballycastle and, of course to our very own St Anne's Corkey on winning the Cup. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!!
