P1 and P2 Investigate......

As part of our 'Light Up the Dark' topic we decided to investigate which materials light can pass through.  Through Play and exploration we discovered that light can pass through some objects much better than others. Indeed we discovered that there are  objects which light cannot pass through at all!  These findings led us on to explore the language of opaque, translucent and transparent.  The following photographs will give you an insight into how we tested which objects were opaque, translucent and transparent and how we were then able to sort them accordingly!
