P5/6 Anti-Bullying Week & Instructional Writing

We had a very busy week working on anti-bullying activities in P5/6 and our instructional writing. The theme this year is Power for Good. P5/6 enjoyed discussing how they can use their power to do good and help stop or prevent bullying. They were reminded that bullying isn’t always face to face, it can be online and it isn’t always 1-1. Those standing back laughing or ‘reinforcing’ the behaviour are also bullies! 

We started our instructional writing for this term and the pupils worked really hard in their ‘bossy’ or imperative verbs. We are now all expects at the key features in instructional texts and will use this knowledge to help us problem solve and then write our own instructions next week!
