St John Ambulance visit P3&4!πβοΈπ©Ήπ€π§ββοΈ
Today the children in P3 and 4 had some very exciting visitors!
Natasha and Gemma who are volunteers from St. John Ambulance came to visit our KS1 class. The ladies kindly brought their ambulance vehicle, so that the boys and girls could explore and see all of the vital life saving equipment. It was not only the kids who learnt loads today but also Bronagh and Mrs Bradley.
The boys and girls shared everything that we have learnt over the past number of weeks, leading up to the visit. We also shared all of the accidents which needed medical attention, that have happened to us!
We asked lots of questions: Where you might see these ambulances? What kind of equipment they would use most? What equipment is used for certain types of injuries? Are they first responders or how are they called out to emergencies? What kind of events do they attend? Are all workers volunteers? What is a 999 emergency and what is not? and lots more!
Mrs Bradley requested this visit as part of our World Around Us 'Mighty Me' topic. So far this term we have been learning about our senses, organs, bones, mental health, emotions and how to keep ourselves safe in all situations, including basic first aid rules.
Well done for the super questions and great listening during the visit.
A huge thank you to the ladies for giving their free time to visit our school and sharing such great advice and knowledge :D We are very grateful!!
