St Louis P6 football tournament
11th Dec 2025
Our P6 and P5 boys were invited to play in St Louis GS football tournament on Thursday afternoon. Despite the lack of practice with the 'big ball' our lads more than held their own against teams with infinitely more football experience in their group games, winning 2 and suffering narrow defeats in the other 3.
The scoring system was amended for this tournament, one point for a goal and 2 points for a score over the bar. This led to some great skills development in highly competitive and enjoyable games over the day.
The lads' morning performance earned them a shield semi final place against Millquarter after lunch which they won to progress to the final against Mount St Michael's Randalstown. Unfortunately lady luck shone on the White hill lads as a few of the Corkey Kids two point efforts just dropped low for one point scores, leaving Mount St Michael's ahead by a single point at the end.
Well done to all our lads who did themselves, their families and their school proud today.
